The Way of Shooto VI: Like A Tiger Like A Dragon

Published on various websites, November 15th 2010

My favourite C-list promotion in Japan (I refuse to call them a feeder org, when they have put on events since before Pride, Hero’s and even Pancrase existed) are showcasing an event tomorrow from the Korakuen Hall, Tokyo.

If there is a stream, get to Minowaman Top Team!

The Way of Shooto VI
Pacific Rim 143lb Title Fight
Gustavo Falciroli (10-2) vs Taiki Tsuchiya (7-2)
Non-title fight
Yasuhiro Urushitani (17-4) vs Takuya Mori (7-4)
Fumihiro Kitahara (9-1) vs Mamoru Yamaguchi (24-5)
Tenkei “Fujimiya” Oda (9-5) vs Bae Yong Kwon (4-1)
Yoshihiro Koyama (14-4) vs Adam Lynn (13-8)
Shinya Murofushi (6-2) vs Mikihito Yamagami (4-2)
Haruo Ochi (4-2) vs Hiroaki Ijima (2-4)
Toshiaki Hayasaka (1-5-1) vs Kenji Yamamoto (Pro Debut)

The event features former two-weight champion Mamoru Yamaguchi taking on Fumihiro Kitahara in an eye-catching bout, and at the same weight (123lbs) current incumbent of the Shooto World title, Yasuhiro Urushitani, will compete against the on-paper over-matched Takuya Mori. As the latter man does not hold a top 10 rank with the Shooto commission, the bout will be a non-title affair.
Main-eventing the card will be the submission fighter Gustavo Falciroli taking on 143lbs champion Taiki Tsuchiya (7-2) for the Shooto Pacific Rim title. The champion is on winning form, and will look to extend that over a man who is being touted as a potential sleeper in the Japanese C-leagues. Don’t bet against what would unfairly be called an upset.

If anyone has a means of watching this, I implore you in the name of all that is holy to share it with me! If anyone wants to see it, try this link nearer the time; http://minowamantopteam.heavenforum.com – hopefully by the time the event has started, a stream will have popped up.

Banzai.

Fletch
